Eligibility for Programs

No cost for the programs but we do sell a membership at a cost of $1.00 for anyone.

How to Access the Programs

Drop by the centre and speak to the receptionist or the program coordinator.

Services
Partners for Careers
Provides resume services, interview skills, cover letters, etc. Talk to a counsellor about employment opportunities, training, and education. See employment/educational training for further information.

In A Good Way
Offers a parenting program for young aboriginal moms and dads. See Child & Family Services for further information.

Adult Upgrading
Designed to individually meet the needs of any adult who wishes to learn how to read and write to upgrade these skills. Computer assisted learning available. See employment/education training for further information.

Kokum’s Little Friends Day Care
Provides day care to children.

Non-Profit Housing

Bingo

Urban Multipurpose Aboriginal Youth Centre (UMAYC)
Offers a wide variety of recreational activities that are scheduled seasonally.  Monthly calendars are available at the Centre. Youth drop-in is open 7 days per week.

Access Exchange Service
Provides safe environments and trained personnel to facilitate family visits.

Aboriginal Community Wellness Program
Provides programs and services for aboriginal people affected by the residential school system either directly or indirectly and this includes counselling, referrals, interviewing, anger management training, facilitating "It's Not Your Fault" program, residential school education, and healing circles.

Community Liaison Worker
Liaises with other organizations in the region to develop workshops pertaining to all ages. Provides monthly visits with elders in the community.

Scout Newsletter
Published quarterly and keeps members informed.

Parent Child Centre
Offers youth aged six to twelve and their parents the opportunity to spend time together in a social atmosphere. The children and their parents learn cooking skills and participate in recreational activities in our youth drop in.

The Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program (CPNP)
Offers support to women to help them have healthier pregnancies and connect with other services and supports in their community.

Headstart (at 205 College Ave)
Aboriginal based pre-school for 3-5 year olds.

Cultural Worker
Available to provide cross cultural training.

FASD Respite Service
One Saturday per month.

Monday-Friday: 8:30 am-4:30 pm.

Youth Drop In
Monday–Thursday: 3:30 pm-9:00 pm, Friday: 3:30 pm–11:00 pm, Saturday: 3:00 pm-11:00 pm, Sunday: 1:00 pm-9:00 pm

Kokum’s Daycare
6:00 am-6:00 pm
