Services

Manitoba Child Care: Provides assistance to Family Day Care operators, Licensed Child Care Centers and Group Family Child Care facilities. Child care Coordinators are responsible for enforcement of Child Care regulations. Child Care Subsidy. Family Conciliation Services. Children's Special Services - services for children with disabilities and their families. Supported Living Programs - services for adults living with a mental disability. Employment and Income Assistance. Vocational Rehabilitation. Residential Care Licensing.

Employment and Income Assistance (EIA) is a provincial program of last resort for people who need assistance to meet basic personal and needs, including food, clothing and shelter.Eligibility is determined via an application and assessment process.  EIA Counsellors may also be able to assist with training, educational upgrading and employment readiness activities.

How to Access the Services

Between the hours of 8:30am and 4:30pm (Monday to Friday) individuals can phone 726-6336, long distance toll free at 1-866-726-6438 or visit Family Services and Consumer Affairs at 340-9th Street, located in the Provincial Building (second floor).

After Hours Emergency Assistance can be accessed by phoning 1-866-559-6778. Individuals will be connected to an on-call center where an intake worker will assess the situation and may issue emergency benefits upon completion of the assessment and application process.

Costs

There are no fees charged to access services or information.
